  • No! Mid-State Kart Club is for private kart owners only. We do not offer any kind of “rental concession kart” that you may see at either a mini-golf our indoor karting type of facility. Although, we welcome you to learn more about how you can get involved by visiting our “new to karting” page in the top menu.

  • Fuel is not sold on the property at Mid-State Kart Club. Our spec fuel is to be purchased at 3300 E Clear Lake Ave, Springfield, IL 62702. 87 octane only.

  • The majority of karts that race at our facility are NOT shifter karts. “Shifter karting” became a blanket term for karting in the 90s due to the class’ rising popularity. It’s actually now one of the least participated-in classes across the nation. Visit our “class structure” page to learn what classes we offer and visit the “new to karting” page to learn what class is best fit for you.

  • Registration and Wristbands are done in the tower before raceday. Cash and checks are the only payment method at this time.

  • No, you do not have to be a member. Although, memberships offer great discounts on race and practice fees.

  • Yes! (On race-days only) Our local parts dealer, JoeyKarter, sells parts and Hoosier Kartsport tires on-site each race day. You can find their store in the member garages near the grid.

  • NO, we do not race in the rain in our member events. If you are racing in a regional event that involves a track rental of Mid-State Kart Club, refer to that specific series’ rules.

  • No, but visit our “new to karting” page to find a local dealer.

  • Yes! Although, we are currently sold-out of garage space. Let us know if you are interested and we can put you on the waiting list if space becomes available.

  • We have podium award trophies for Kid Kart, Cadet, Rookie, and Junior Classes. We do not give out trophies to our Senior racers. We have determined at our Club meetings that adult trophy money would be spent on additional year end award prizes. We price our entries as affordable as possible in return!

  • You can race as young as 5 years old and as “young” as 70+ years old! Race class categories are divided into Kid (Ages 5-8), Cadet (ages 8-10)/Rookie (Ages 10-12), Junior (Ages 12-15), Senior (Ages 15+), and Masters (Ages 40+).
